With agreement from the property owner, a date is set for initial property inspection, evaluation and assessment. A thorough inspection sheet will be completed, where pictures and measurements of the property will be taken by ‘state of the art’ software platforms. In addition, we will provide warranty information regarding both material and labor, as well as information on financing options.
Within 3 business days, a project proposal will be prepared by our in-house solar-design engineer and available for personal delivery to the client. Solar panels and all other related equipment will be ‘best rated’ in the industry unless otherwise directed by the property owner. The property owner will also receive construction documents, plans, and the Lowden Solar installation contract. In addition, a thorough cost-benefit analysis of the proposed system will be discussed (including 100% financing options, Federal tax credits, and State tax benefits) to determine if the solar system is financially prudent and viable. In other words, is our solar system right for the property owner.
If needed, the property owner will apply for full or partial financing to pay for the solar system and installation. If requested, Lowden Solar can provide the names of financial institutions who specialize in the financing of solar systems. Upon delivery of a completed application, a loan decision will be made within 24 – 72 hours. However, the property owner is free to select any lender of their choice for their financial needs.
Acceptance and execution of the contract by the property owner. A specific ‘Project Manager’ will be assigned to the project. On behalf of the client, Lowden Solar will then apply for interconnection approval with the applicable utility company regarding system design, material components being installed, and the utility company’s grid capacity. Lowden Solar will absorb the costs of the interconnection application process. Please note: The utility company can take up to 6-8 weeks to process and approve the application.
Lowden Solar will also apply for applicable building and electrical permits.
With approval of the interconnection application by the utility company, Lowden Solar will order all necessary equipment and materials for the project, and schedule delivery with the property owner. Delivery may take up to 14 business days.
Delivery of equipment and materials occurs. Installation of the solar system will begin. Under normal circumstances, installation can be done in less than two (2) business days.
Completion of installation. Lowden Solar will request a final inspection from the utility company for permission to connect and operate the solar system. Please note: The utility company may take up to 45 days for approval, where a ‘certificate of completion’ will be issued and signed by the property owner. Also, the residential meter will be switched by the utility company.
Lowden Solar will schedule a final inspection with the client, where warranties and certifications will be delivered and reviewed. In addition, the property owner will be instructed on how to view and monitor the solar production with the relevant ‘software app’.
It can take 3-6 months to get your solar system installed
